Honkai Star Rail - Bailu Follower

1 Description

This mod is a complete functional overhaul of the Bailu follower from the [YZX - Yi Zhixiong] mod. It takes the beautiful character assets created by YZX and completely rebuilds her gameplay systems to transform her from a basic vanilla follower into a powerful, specialized companion with unique mechanics. This is not a re-upload of the original assets, it is a new plugin that utilizes the meshes and textures from the YZX mod. You must have the original [YZX] mod installed for this mod to work.

This overhaul has been created with the permission and agreement of the original author, YZX. Many thanks to YZX for allowing me to build upon their wonderful work.

3 Installation instructions

1. Download and install the original [YZX] mod first.
2. Ensure all Requirements are installed and working correctly.
3. Download this mod and install it using a mod manager (such as Mod Organizer 2). Set this mod to load after the original YZX mod. This is the recommended and tested method. Overwriting the original plugin is not advised or supported, as this file is intended to function as a standalone plugin that builds upon the original assets.

4 Main features

• Custom Follower Framework: Bailu now has a dedicated follower framework, giving her unique AI and behavior that sets her apart from standard followers.
• Unique Spells & Abilities: She comes equipped with new, custom spells and abilities that reflect her character, making her a valuable asset in combat.
• Integrated Merchant System: Bailu can function as a merchant who sells her items from anywhere, even while she is actively following you. Her stock is tailored and features a “Khajiit Wares” style for convenient trading on the go.
• Home Location: You can set an interior location (such as the player’s house) as her home. She will return there when dismissed. Also you can tell her to return to her original location (Temple of Kynareth).
• Inventory Management: She features a separate “pack back” system to prevent her from auto-equipping standard Skyrim armor. The mod automatically transfers any items placed in her inventory (excluding rings, amulets, and circlets) to this pack, ensuring she always retains her intended look. Note: It may include bugs that I haven’t yet tested, so please don’t abuse this feature, and you should only put rings, amulets, and circlets on her normal inventory. Modded jewelry other than vanilla ones that use different body slots may not be recognized by the script.

5 Requirements

• YZX - Bailu (Original mod by YZX)
• SKSE and its required dependencies.
• Faster HDT-SMP and its required dependencies. SkyUI (optional), but it’s recommended as it works great with merchant function and pack back.

7 Future plans

• Custom voice lines are planned for a future update to fully complete the character.
• Adds additional abilities. For instance, she can cast Candlelight upon request, summon her sister to aid in combat, or perform a tail attack. I’m also happy to hear any ideas you might have, so feel free to suggest away.

8 Additional Notes:

• Heel Sound.esm is needed because original YZX mod uses it as master file, so I include it in the requirement.
• Please refrain from using this follower together with general follower framework mods such as NFF, AFT or similar mods. I have not had the time to test compatibility with these frameworks and do not intend to. If you choose to use such frameworks anyway, please ensure they do NOT take over management of this follower. That said, if you do experiment with these frameworks, you are welcome to report your experience. Your feedback may help other users, but please understand I cannot offer fixes for issues caused by third-party follower management mods.
• This mod is helpful to make Bailu sit on chair and bench properly and not sink into it.
